The first two pictures in this small portfolio of my work are from a recent study into how hands are used to collect things and how they can not only physically collect but also collect through emotion and communication. So i decided to make a big pair of hands so they look like a drawing and to get images of them framing something else that was physical so they would still be collecting in a less physical sense. i was thinking about developing this in to an animation/film media of lots of snapshots from a journey but making the viewer look through the hands so hey would have to focus on the things i want them to focus on. The third image is of a section of my space at college just to show how i have everything I want to look at and think about in front of me so i can see what my plan of action is. Image 4 is just a little experiment in my sketch book about breaking up the image and has a little bit of cubism about it. The fifth image is from a 3D workshop I’ve been doing and I used oil pastels and white emulsion to make this shell look round and shiny. I changed the colour on it because I thought that the colours I used would compliment each other and make for a nice picture. The next 5 images are from my life drawing folder and I feel they show how I can be expressive and create a good composition. I also used a variety of different media such as inks, pencil, coloured pencil, oil pastel, emulsion paint, chalks, and charcoal. I really enjoyed the life drawing as it has helped me out with my compositional work and drawing skill of the figure. The last two photos’ are from when I visited Valencia at the start of January and was trying to focus on movement and trying to show things moving in a still image. I've used light quite powerfully to try and push the speed of the movement through the still image. I really love the thought of being able to carry on doing what I do now on a more intense schedule and learning even more things to go towards my ever growing repertoire.
